Misty Mountain Spring Water Wins International Honor

ABINGDON, Va. (Friday, October 18, 2002)
Misty Mountain Spring Water Company, a Division of K-VA-T Food Stores, Inc. was recently awarded first place Aqua Award Honors in the "Special Promotions" category during the International Bottled Water Association Convention in Phoenix, Arizona. Hugh Bowman, Vice President and General Manager for Misty Mountain accepted the honor in an awards ceremony. More than 2,000 delegates from around the world were in attendance.
"Misty Mountain is extremely pleased to receive this international honor. This award is the result of hard work and a coordinated effort by Misty Mountain associates and the Commonwealth of Virginia." stated Bowman.
The first place Aqua Award was presented to Misty Mountain for a videotape produced in coordination with Workforce Services, Department of Business Assistance. Workforce Services through the Commonwealth of Virginia provided a professional videographer and narrator, and Misty Mountain was responsible for writing the script and setting the shots for the choreography.
The six-minute Misty Mountain videotape describes the production and distribution process water undergoes from the spring to the consumer. The video also describes the contributions pure spring water plays in promoting good health. Segments of the videotape were taken at the Cashiers, North Carolina processing plant, the Abingdon, Virginia processing facility, Mid-Mountain Foods and the Blountville, Tennessee Food City.
The videotape is currently used for new employee orientation purposes, plant tours by visitors, food shows and as a sales and marketing tool for prospective customers.
